These shoes are great. They are casual and go with almost everything. I love that they look good but also fit comfortable. That doesnt always happen. I really like that they also fit great to size. They stay on my feet and they arent too big or too small. I honestly could wear these all day. I normally take my shoes off when I get home but with these I leave them on and forget I am wearing them.

Due to an old ankle injury, I pretty much only wear Birkenstocks. Then, living in the desert, I wear Gizehs and am always looking for fancy ones.

I ordered these red patent "leather" Gizehs and absolutely love them. I've been wearing them for a few months now and the red is still true, and they look as good as new.

Highly recommended sandal. You can walk and stand for a long time and look snazzy, too. I get comments on these Birks all the time.

I have every style of FitFlops available, sandals, boots, clogs etc. This is the only pair I've ever had to return. They are painful. The post between your toes is too thick and rigid. It left a blister between my toes and on top where the top of post rubbed. I don't know what FitFlop is doing, but their newer styles are sized oddly, shaped differently and they don't provide the "Heaven on your feet" feeling. I have rotten feet and severe arthritis. The old shoes were comfortable on my legs, back and feet. The new fit doesn't help any of those issues. I don't understand what group FitFlop is trying to market.

I would rate these 5 stars. But, because if their one downside Ill leave it at 4. These CAN be the most comfortable longest lasting flip flops you own. but there is a break in period. it usually lasts about 1 to 2 weeks. this usually scares most people and i feel that it is where most of the negative reviews come from. During this time expect the nylon webbing between your toes to be horribly uncomfortable and if you have larger/wider feet the straps to be too tight around your foot. but with time they will stretch and the footbed will form to your feet like no other sandal. This pair is my second pair. the first pair that i had lasted me over 6 years before i lost them. and this most recent pair is just beginning to be comfortable. soooo if you can put up with a week or 2 of pain, you can have some comfortable sandals to last years. but if not, there are many nice sandals (my other favorites are sanuks) that are comfortable right out of the box at a comparable price point. buttt, they just wont last as long. For some, they may not be worth the wait, and i understand. but all my friends who have tried them and stuck it out have loved them and i really think you would too.

I use these for kayaking. After using neoprene booties for years, I was resistant at first. But after kicking rocks and stubbed toes, the composite toe is a significant improvement for rocky terrains. The toe has plenty of movement, much that you would find in steel toe work boots. They were a little awkward in the kayak at first, but the grip these have on slimy rocks makes up for that. Overall, if you are a river kayak person, get a pair of these.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

review

My wife ordered these things for me via Amazon. I needed such shoes specifically to wear to the pool at our local YMCA. She ordered a size 9; the usual size I wear in such foot wear.

I have to admit that when I first wore these things, (It was at the pool), I absolutely hated them. To be candid, they hurt! It was like walking on dull nails. I brought them home fully intending to throw them in the trash after I had come here to Amazon and written a review completely trashing the things.

Fortunately, when I came here to this site I started reading the other reviews and soon came to the conclusion that I needed to give the sandals another chance. Now keep in mind that I am not one of those people with baby soft soles on my feet. My preference in foot wear is no foot wear at all. I spend a great amount of time both indoors and out barefooted. The soles of my feet are quite hard. (Not like they were when I was a kid, but for an old man...not bad).

Anyway, I continued wearing these things and as other reviewers have pointed out my feet and the shoe adjusted themselves. My feet became less sensitive to the little nubs and the little nubs became softer and eventually more or less formed to my particular foot pattern. I now wear these things around the house and around the yard and indeed, in the garden. They now, after the foot and shoe break-in, are extremely comfortable. They are easy to slip on and off. They are attractive (as if that aspect of foot ware has ever been a big factor in what I wear), and they seem to be wearing quite well. I have had these sandals for over eight months now. There are a couple of things to note here:

First, these seem to run a bit small as to size. I could have used a size 10 rather than a size 9. Maybe that is just me.

Second, the nubs, the little nail like things you actually stand on, do wear out. After continual use I note that more and more of them are breaking off. This is not big deal...goodness knows I have already gotten my monies worth out of them, but it is something to consider before you buy.

Third, I noted this same shoe in local stores and the price here on Amazon is extremely competitive to what I would have had to pay here.

It is actually probably a blessing that my wife ordered these things for me rather than my purchasing them at a local store where I would have tried them on before purchasing. Had I done so, there is no way I would have bought them. I am also grateful that I read the other reviews before I trashed the things.
